With this version, you can migrate contents to SharePoint Online sites using cloud and federated identities.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">I will discuss the salient steps to create a DocKIT task to migrate documents from file shares to Office 365 in this blog article.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click \u2018New Task\u2019 button in the DocKIT main screen.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/new-task.png\" data-lbwps-width=\"57\" data-lbwps-height=\"49\" data-lbwps-srcsmall=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/new-task.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/new-task.png\" alt=\"Create new task\" width=\"57\" height=\"49\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"justify\">Select a suitable task type in New Task dialog and click OK.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/import-task.png\" data-lbwps-width=\"559\" data-lbwps-height=\"593\" data-lbwps-srcsmall=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/import-task.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/import-task.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"559\" height=\"593\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Specify a valid SharePoint Office 365 site URL (including sites configured using ADFS). If you are using cloud identity to connect to SharePoint site, select \u2018<strong>Use the following credential to connect to SharePoint<\/strong>\u2019 option under SharePoint user credentials. Then specify the username and password in the respective text boxes. Select \u2018<strong>Use federated authentication (Web Single Sign-on)<\/strong>\u2019 option under SharePoint user credentials to connect to on-premise \/ Office 365\u2019s SharePoint site configured with ADFS federated authentication (Web Single Sign-on).<br \/>\n<h3>Figure #2: SharePoint destination location<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/task-wizard.png\" data-lbwps-width=\"623\" data-lbwps-height=\"452\" data-lbwps-srcsmall=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/task-wizard.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/task-wizard.png\" alt=\"task wizard\" width=\"623\" height=\"452\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Once you select the above mentioned option and click \u2018Next\u2019, the web login dialog will appear as shown below:<br \/>\n<h3>Figure #3: SharePoint Online login<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/officer365.png\" data-lbwps-width=\"624\" data-lbwps-height=\"495\" data-lbwps-srcsmall=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/officer365.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/officer365.png\" alt=\"office 365 login\" width=\"624\" height=\"495\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Provide \u2018User ID\u2019 and \u2018Password\u2019 in the respective text boxes. Then click \u2018Sign in\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>Click Add \/ Edit\u2026 button, select the files \/ folders to import and click \u2018Next\u2019 button (as shown in Figure #4).<br \/>\n<h3>Figure #4: Items to Import<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/items-to-import.png\" data-lbwps-width=\"623\" data-lbwps-height=\"447\" data-lbwps-srcsmall=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/items-to-import.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/items-to-import.png\" alt=\"items to import\" width=\"623\" height=\"447\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>In the \u2018Metadata Options\u2019 wizard step, specify the metadata file to use for the import task and specify the \u2018Allow Fill-in settings\u2019 (only for Choice and Managed Metadata fields), if required.<br \/>\n<h3>Figure #5: Metadata Options<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/metadata-options.png\" data-lbwps-width=\"623\" data-lbwps-height=\"447\" data-lbwps-srcsmall=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/metadata-options.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/metadata-options.png\" alt=\"metadata options\" width=\"623\" height=\"447\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Provide the various DocKIT templates created using DocKIT Template Manager as input (as shown in Figure #6).<br \/>\n<h3>Figure #6: Mapping Templates<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/mapping-tamplates.png\" data-lbwps-width=\"623\" data-lbwps-height=\"447\" data-lbwps-srcsmall=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/mapping-tamplates.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/mapping-tamplates.png\" alt=\"mapping templates\" width=\"623\" height=\"447\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Additionally, if you intend to propagate fields such as \u2018Created Date\u2019, \u2018Modified Date\u2019, \u2018Created By\u2019 and \u2018Modified By\u2019 for folders \/ files from file shares to SharePoint, you have to create a<strong> Column Mapping Template<\/strong>. Click <strong> Manage Templates<\/strong>\u2026 button and DocKIT Template Manager dialog will appear as shown below in Figure #7.<br \/>\n<h3>Figure #7: Mapping Templates<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/template-manager.png\" data-lbwps-width=\"623\" data-lbwps-height=\"460\" data-lbwps-srcsmall=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/template-manager.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/template-manager.png\" alt=\"template manager\" width=\"623\" height=\"460\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Click \u2018New\u2019 in the toolbar, provide the unique template name and specify the template group as \u2018Column Mapping\u2019 in the \u2018New Template\u2019 dialog.<\/li>\n<li>Once you click \u2018Save\u2019 button, a newly created template will be added to the template list under \u2018Column Mapping\u2019 node.<br \/>\n<h3>Figure #8: Template for mapping date fields<\/h3>\n<p><a data-lbwps-srcsmall=\"https:\/\/www.vyapinsoftware.com\/images\/blogs\/dockit\/template-manager-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" \u2018Created Date\u2019, \u2018Modified Date\u2019, \u2018Created By\u2019 and \u2018Modified By\u2019 values for the files \/ folders, edit respective columns under one by one under \u2018<strong>Default Columns \u2013 Folder<\/strong>\u2019 and \u2018<strong>Default Columns \u2013 File \/ Item<\/strong>\u2019 and provide the required source option and values.<\/li>\n<li>Save the template and specify the created template as an input to DocKIT as shown below.<br \/>\n<h3>Figure #9: Mapped templates<\/h3>\n<p><a subsequent wizard steps as required.<\/li>\n<li>Enter a unique task name in the appropriate text box and select the appropriate option under \u2018<strong>Connect to SharePoint As<\/strong>\u2019 <strong> Run later<\/strong> or<br \/>\n<strong> Run now<\/strong> options, the Web Single Sign-on framework expects the username and password to be given by the user interactively in a browser based username and password in the respective text boxes and click \u2018Sign in\u2019 button to proceed.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">For Schedule option, DocKIT enables you to setup the migration task using cookie-based persistent connection and shared user credentials technique. DocKIT expects the user performing the migration to ensure that a persistent connection is available using the<strong> Web Single Sign-on Dashboard<\/strong> tool (Tools -&gt; Web SSO Dashboard menu) that is built into the application. When creating a scheduled migration task, you can use the<strong> Web Single Sign-on Dashboard<\/strong> to check the connection status. You can also connect to a SharePoint site manually before the task executes automatically at the prescribed date\/time.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">To check the connection status in DocKIT Task Wizard, <strong><u> Click to check session status hyperlink<\/u><\/strong> in the screen.
